[Error: unknown template qotd]I slept most of the day, sick as a dog, and then watched the Looney Tunes marathon and Mythbusters. If I hadn't been sick, it would have been a great day. But I don't believe that it sets the tone for the year.

Also, why is it that the more money you make, the less you have? I've been busting my ass working overtime for the last 2 months and we don't have anything to show for it. I guess you can blame part of it on what we spent on Christmas, but jeez. And Stupidhead is a month behind in child support, so that's part of it. I'm going to have to take a loan out of my 401K to pay for the trip to CA for Bren's sister's wedding and step up my OT to pay for Disney.

[Error: unknown template qotd]Decorating the tree. Growing up, we had an artifical tree that my aunt gave my mom when I was little, and we used it until I went to college. We used the same ornaments that my mom had had since 1979, too. The only new things on our tree were candy canes and the occasional replacing of electric lights. I don't understand people who buy all new ornaments every year. Yeah, they're pretty, but there's no history, no love to them.

We don't have room for a tree this year, unless we move a lot more stuff into storage than we're planning. But then we have the kitties and the baby to consider. I think Ben would attempt to climb and possibly eat the tree.

Oh - and candy canes. Just peppermint candy canes. I love them.

When i was in high school, I belonged to the Octagon club - an offshoot of the Optimist club. I wasn't popular enough to get into the Kiwanettes. But we actually DID things. Every Christmas, we volunteered at the Foster Children's Christmas party. That was awesome.

This year, I want to get into baking - most of my friends are going to be getting baked goods. :)
