I can't believe this. Basically, Sarah Palin's pick for Attorney General in Alaska is a misogynistic rape and domestic abuse apologist. Because you should be able to fuck your wife regardless of her consent and it's her own fault if you beat the shit out of her - she just couldn't keep her mouth shut.

Are there really people who want Sarah Palin in the Oval Office? Because obviously the people she has working for her don't think highly of women. Maybe they think she'll just be a puppet. And I found out the other day that Rush Limbaugh thinks that any woman who is a feminist wasn't pretty enough to get what she wanted out of men, so she's got to be "political."

My respect for the high profile members of the Republican party is below nil right now. Go back to your fucking roots, drop all of your racist, sexist, and otherwise discriminatory ways, get rid of the nutjob fundamentalists, and maybe I'll think about looking to you for leadership.

Edit: The Alaskan asshole was featured in sf_d yesterday. That's what I get for stopping reading at 5 pm.

Help!

I posted this in [livejournal.com profile] disneyworld , but I have so many wonderful helpful friends, I figured I'd post here, too!

Hello all you wonderful people! I looked at the memories, but the post about the dining plan was from 2006 and things have changed quite a bit since then. So I was hoping you would please give me some advice about whether or not to buy one of the dining plans.

We are lucky enough to be able to go to Disney on their buy 4 get 3 free promotion this June - we'll be there from the 10th to the 17th. Travelling will be 2 adults, a 10 year old, and a toddler. We've looked around allears.net and are still undecided about the dining plan. My husband is an unabashed carnivore and all around picky eater, so where we go is kind of limited to what he likes - though if there's something steakish or chickenish on the menu, he'll go. (No Mexican, no seafood, no pasta for him.)

We've looked at several menus in the parks and know many places we want to eat, most of which are counter service. But there are a few table service places we'd like to go - The Sci Fi Dine In Theater, Teppan Edo, Le Cellier (we'll never get in without an ADR, right), and the Plaza Restaurant. So I've been weighing the Quick Service and the Dining plan against each other. We could probably find 7 table service places to eat, but I know there are more quick service places that appeal to the whole family.

And then there's the snacks. One plan has 2 snacks, the other has 1. And the most description of the snack availability is soda, chips, popcorn, and ice cream. I know the turkey legs and hot dogs don't count, but what about the pretzels? Is there a site that has a more in depth listing of what counts? And is it worth it, money wise?

Another option since we're Florida residents is that discount card- I think it's called Tables in Wonderland. But would shelling out the $100 for a 20% discount save us any real money?

So please help - do you think it'd be a good idea moneywise for us to get one of the dining plans (quick service $30 per person per night 2 counter service meals and 2 snacks per night; regular plan $40 per person per night 1 table service, 1 counter service 1 snack per night) ? If so, which one? Thanks so much!

[Error: unknown template qotd]I've become so much more responsible with money than I was 4 or 5 years ago. I stopped taking out payday loans and haven't bounced a check in over 4 years. We're still living paycheck to paycheck, but I'm working on that. Damn you, my family's tv addiction!
