Writer's Block: Gone Too Far

The first week of my freshman year in college, I walked into the bathroom to see a girl passed out on the floor surrounded by vomit. She turned out to have a bad case of alcohol poisoning and had to be hospitalized. Alcoholism runs in my family - my mom, both grandfathers, and other distant relatives have all struggled with it - but it was never so immediate as this. I've never had the desire to drink or do drugs, but it made me take other people's binge drinking more seriously.
