back achy, tired, and sad
Jun. 26th, 2007 09:12 amThis past weekend I drove down to Tampa to see Katie. She's with her dad this month - and for the next 3 weeks. Bren stayed home to pack. (yay moving!) The drive was icky. I had contractions for the last hour on the way down - just Braxton Hicks, but still uncomfortable. We did some swimming, watched Powerpuff Girls season 1, hung out with
Got back to Jax Sunday around 7:30. I helped Bren pack some more, showered, and collapsed. Monday morning, we got up and attempted to pack everything else before the movers arrived. We used Two Men and a Truck - I can recommend them, at least the Jacksonville branch. They worked fast, were relatively inexpensive, (I shelled out $690 for a 3 bedroom apartment move to a second floor), very personable, and were adorably grateful for the tip. It was about 95 degrees and the move took about 4 and a half hours. I handed the three of them $150 to split. Moving in Florida during the summer - big big evil. Moving to a second floor apartment during the summer - even bigger evil.
I missed the gas man, so I had to pay another $20 for the dude to come out, and the cable guy was way behind schedule. I had to return the rental car, so they told me they'd call when they were on the way. As I was driving there, a truck smacked into a tree and sent a 8 foot branch spinning into the hood of the rental. Luckily no damage, but JESUS! Then I found out that I didn't give the guy the key. Yeah, icky day. We stopped by the old place to pick up some stuff (refrigerated things, my monitor) that we didn't get packed. The stairs are going to be an issue until the baby is born and I recover from the c-section. I'm 30 weeks today, and my back is killing me. I only went up and down 4 or 5 times.
The apartment is really nice. Really secluded, quiet place. The master bath is HUGE... I can't wait to get in the jacuzzi tub. We have a gas water heater and stove. The rooms are a bit smaller than the old place, but I really don't care. I don't have to listen to my crazy upstairs neighbor scream on the phone anymore. My only complaint is that we have berber carpet. Ugh, so ugly.
We came back from dinner and turned on Monday Night Raw. Yes, I am a wrestling fan. Not so much as I used to be, but still loving it. They were showing a match from 1992. And then there was a pop up stating Chris Benoit, his wife, and his son were dead. We just stared at the screen in disbelief. They had cancelled the show for the first time that I can remember because Chris Benoit was dead. We missed the whole first hour, so Bren scrambled to get my computer put together so we could find out what the hell happened. There wasn't much info last night. Now the police have stated they believe it was a double murder suicide. I'm unable to comprehend the idea that this soft spoken, hardworking man who sobbed his heart out when Eddie Guerrero died killed his wife and little boy. My heart aches for this man, who many considered to be a hero. I don't want to think about it anymore.
