[Error: unknown template qotd]Decorating the tree. Growing up, we had an artifical tree that my aunt gave my mom when I was little, and we used it until I went to college. We used the same ornaments that my mom had had since 1979, too. The only new things on our tree were candy canes and the occasional replacing of electric lights. I don't understand people who buy all new ornaments every year. Yeah, they're pretty, but there's no history, no love to them.
We don't have room for a tree this year, unless we move a lot more stuff into storage than we're planning. But then we have the kitties and the baby to consider. I think Ben would attempt to climb and possibly eat the tree.
Oh - and candy canes. Just peppermint candy canes. I love them.
When i was in high school, I belonged to the Octagon club - an offshoot of the Optimist club. I wasn't popular enough to get into the Kiwanettes. But we actually DID things. Every Christmas, we volunteered at the Foster Children's Christmas party. That was awesome.
This year, I want to get into baking - most of my friends are going to be getting baked goods. :)
